Terms of Use
Effective October 21, 2026 · Version française · Deutsche Fassung
These terms are the agreement between you and Moosou for using the app at moosou.app. By creating an account or using Moosou, you agree to them. How we handle your data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Who we are
Moosou is run by Alica Moser, an individual based in Québec, Canada (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at privacy@moosou.ca.
Your account
- You need to be at least 16, and of legal age in your province or country to buy Moosou Plus.
- An account is for one person. Use a real email address and keep your password to yourself; you’re responsible for what happens in your account.
- Tell us right away if you think someone else got into your account.
Shared budgets
- When you share a budget, your partner sees your shared entries and can add, change and delete entries in it. Entries you mark as private are seen only by you.
- You decide what you put into a shared budget. Only add information about other people that you’re allowed to share.
- If you leave a budget or delete your account, your private entries are deleted and your partner keeps the shared history.
Moosou Plus
- A new budget includes everything free for its first 2 months; the free trial is given once per person. After that, the budget needs Moosou Plus to add or change entries. Without it, everything you entered stays available to look at, export and delete.
- Moosou Plus costs C$6.99 a month or C$59 a year, plus applicable tax, or €4.99 a month or €42 a year, VAT included. Prices shown at checkout apply. One subscription covers everyone in the budget.
- Purchases are sold through Link, Stripe’s merchant of record, which processes the payment, collects tax and sends receipts. Their payment terms, shown at checkout, apply to the purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in Settings → Moosou Plus → Manage subscription; Plus then continues until the end of the period you paid for.
- Refunds: if something went wrong, write to us and we’ll look at it fairly. Link support can also handle refund requests for purchases. This doesn’t limit any refund rights you have under the law.
- If we change the price, we’ll tell you at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal, so you can cancel first.
Your content
What you put into Moosou stays yours. You allow us to store, process and show it only as needed to run Moosou for you and the people you share a budget with, as described in the Privacy Policy. You can export your entries at any time.
Using Moosou fairly
Don’t use Moosou to break the law, to harass anyone, to store content you have no right to, or to attack, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service. Don’t try to get into accounts or data that aren’t yours.
A tool, not advice
Moosou helps you keep track of spending and of who owes what. It doesn’t give financial, tax or legal advice. Voice notes and photos are read automatically and can be wrong, so please check entries, totals and balances before you rely on them, for example before settling up.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Moosou running and your data safe, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may improve or change features. If we ever shut Moosou down, we’ll tell you at least 60 days in advance so you can export your data, and refund any unused part of a paid subscription.
Ending your use
You can stop using Moosou and delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms; where possible we’ll tell you first and give you a chance to export your data.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Moosou is provided “as is”, and we are not responsible for indirect losses, such as lost profits or decisions made based on the app. Our total responsibility for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for Moosou Plus in the 12 months before the claim, or C$50 if that is more. This section doesn’t apply where the law doesn’t allow it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can’t be limited by contract, including under Québec’s Consumer Protection Act or the consumer protection laws of your province.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Québec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If you live elsewhere, the consumer protection laws of the place where you live still apply.
Language
These terms are first made available in French (Conditions d’utilisation). If you choose to read and accept them in English, you expressly wish to be bound by the English version.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we’ll update the date at the top. For important changes, we’ll tell you in the app or by email at least 30 days before they apply. If you keep using Moosou after that, the new terms apply; if you don’t agree, you can delete your account.
